Black Ops 2 May Change Headquarters Game Mode
David Vondehaar, a developer at Treyarch, seems passionate about making Headquarters a competitive and tournament ready game-mode.
In its current state, HQ has too much random chance (lucky spawns, etc) to really be played competitively. A recent series of twitter interactions from Vondehaar shows that Treyarch is looking to make changes that would eliminate that random chance in order to make the mode tournament ready. These changes would go into effect in the next Call of Duty game, which at this point we basically know is Black Ops 2.
Here is a quick rundown of some of the changes that Treyarch bandied about through multiple twitter interactions.
- Predictable order to HQ points (not random)
- Multiple rounds per match (so bad spawns would balance out over multiple rounds)
- Shorter HQ lifetimes
What do you think? Would this make the game-mode tournament ready? Do you even want it to be tournament ready or do you just want it left alone? Let us know in the comments below.
