Planet Crashers

The new Nintendo 3DS XL isn’t the only thing coming out this week. As always, this week you’ll be able to download a fresh batch of titles and videos from the Nintendo eShop. There are quite a few commemorating the new handheld.

Most importantly, Planet Crashers from UTV Ignition brings a sizable action RPG to the 3DS digital platform. Here, players and their freshly graduated heroes have to prevent the sun from fading out. To do so, they’ll have to travel from planet to planet and face their dungeons to upgrade their skills and weapons, to ultimately save the galaxy. At a price tag of €10, it’s a bit more expensive than other titles. Let’s hope it lives up to it.

Our pink friend will also make a reappearance on Nintendo 3DS, as Kirby’s Pinball becomes available on the eShop. Players take the ball with the infinite stomach around 3 environments and flip it to thwart King Dedede. The game comes filled with details for the Kirby fan and features hidden secrets and boss fights for a small price of just €3.

Two DSiWare titles balance out the 3D games with more variety. In Candle Route, players must bring the light back to the Crayon Castle. To do so, they’ll have to overcome puzzles in 100 colorful levels filled with explosive fun. At just €2, that’s only 2 cents per level. Decathlon 2012 is the Olympics counterpart to the earlier released Goooooal 2012 from Cinemax. As expected, this title will allow you to partake in 10 different Olympic challenges, such as 100m dash, hurdles, disc throw and so on. You’ll need to shell €5 to go for gold.

Lastly, the Wii releases Horizon Riders for 800 Wii Points. In this game, players take on the evil Thau-Phi that have taken over Planet Zethos with their technological manipulation. These evildoers control all the automated equipment. It’s up to you to control one of 4 battle units and speed through to justice. It’s even said to feature a hover board!
