Today’s the day that millions of eager Diablo 3 fans can finally take action. The game, which has been in development for an ever-increasing period of time, will be available on May 15th for Mac and PC users. At this point Blizzard hasn’t announced any release information for consoles, but a console version of the game is apparently in development for a later release.

Of course, as we now know, the release version of Diablo 3 may be missing a few features that die-hard fans of the series have been waiting for. PvP gameplay will be added later in a patch, while the release version of the game will include only co-operative play and the single-player campaign. It’s a bummer for multiplayer gurus, but an awesome decision for those interested in the single player.

The game is available now for pre-order, and users that order now will be given immediate access to a digital version of the game upon its release. Blizzard is also running a cool promotion for their World of Warcraft users – gamers that pay in advance for a full year of World of Warcraft will get a free copy of Diablo 3, complete with online play accessibility when it comes available.
