Doom fans rejoice, for Bethesda has announced the reworked rerelease of Doom 3. The optimized 3D adaptation of this classic will be titled Doom 3 BFG edition and will release this fall for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC. This also marks the first time that the iconic first person shooter comes to Playstation.

This new edition will also include the Resurrection of Evil expansion as well as introduce a new storyline with The Lost Mission. Seven new singleplayer levels will offer a few more hours of additional gameplay.

The game itself is equally adapted with better controls for the multiplayer experience, a new checkpoint save system and a new flashlight that frees the player up to shoot simultaneously.

As a kicker, the original Doom and Doom 2 will be included within the BFG edition. The announcement comes with a trailer.
