Perhaps not everyone is appreciative of the furry fandom, but there might be more people just affiliated to awesome cartoons. Dust: An Elysian Tail is such a furry animation, presented in a 2D, side-scrolling action RPG.

Its visual appeal is downright stunning. Forget cartoon-like games; Dust actually flows as smoothly as a feature animation. The colors are vibrant, action is fast and furious and the art design looks incredible. It’s not surprising this title won the grand prize in Microsoft’s 2009 Dream.Build.Play competition. Indie developer Dean Dodrill can be proud with his achievements here.

The game coming to Xbox Live Arcade later this year is so inspiring that it will be playable at Microsoft’s PAX East boost this week. There, it will join titles like Steel Battalion Heavy Armor, Minecraft 360 and Fable: Heroes. That’s a pretty good line-up to be tossed into. It seems well deserved.
