The indie scene likes its platformers. Pid is the name of yet another such game that goes from side to side while a protagonist hops along towards freedom.

A protagonist named Kurt is the hero du jour in this number and can be seen in the game’s first gameplay trailer. Aside from just a 2D platformer with 3D visuals, Pid will apparently also include some sort of levitation and/or propulsion mechanism. Kurt can place this strange contraption in order to get an elevated boost to bring him to a new platform. More so, it seems to affect the many different types of enemies on his way. Some ghosts even disintegrate at the technology’s touch.

It’s with this trusty device that Kurt will have to overcome obstacles and progress. The device also can be seen interacting with the environment for even more brainteasers. Platforms and puzzles; it’s the indie world’s go-to and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Pid from Might & Delight, who are also partially responsible for Bionic Commando: Rearmed, will release on digital platforms later this year.
