There is yet another indie bundle initiative somewhere on the web. Yes, there is. We’re fully aware of the frequency in which these are reported, mainly by us. The people at IndieBundle.org are trying something in an alternative manner though. Their promotion is less based on charity and more on rewarding developers and players alike.

For starters, there plan doesn’t offer a pay-what-you-want model. All games are set at a predetermined price, divided in 2 options. Bundles sold for the Desura platform are set at $5, while Steam bundles are offered for $10. Each set always contains 3 games. By offering games this way, the company wants to provide bundles that are both fluff free and reasonably discounted for all. More so, it vows to give between 80% and 90% of all sales directly to the developers.

For now, the site under Beta only has Desura bundles up, but it is in contacts with Steam parties for those particular deals. It already has 4 themed choices up for grabs for $5 with topics such as point and click, platform, puzzle and shmup. We’re not too sure how the premise of not having filler relates to the current bundles, which feature a lot of titles in previous bundles, but there are still discounts to be had nonetheless. In particular, the puzzle bundle contains Terraform; a game we considered for our Steam Greenlight picks.
