Terminal Loading Display
Terminal, one of the most well liked maps of Call of Duty History, might make a comeback in Modern Warfare 3, says Infinity Ward’s Mark Rubin.
There was speculation that the map might make a comeback when it was found in the game files of MW3 Private Matches, along with a new map named Shipbreaker, which looks like Rust, but it wasn’t confirmed until late June. When entering Private Match after buying the Face Off map pack, the names Terminal and Shipbreaker were added. However, clicking on them showed the error: ‘Terminal Disabled! [insert gamertag] does not have the map pack.’ Seeing this, many fans wondered if this was a glitch or if Infinity Ward planned on releasing it as a later map pack. Rubin replied, via Twitter:
@NeptuneAssassin Terminal? it’s a tech issue with delivery but yes it will be free.
This alone isn’t proof that Terminal will for sure be released, but Rubin went on to say, “I may have to punch a bunch of people in the nuts but I am working my butt off to get terminal out.”
This is surely a great sign for MW3 as a community of gamers. Terminal has been long praised for its layout, in that half a dozen simultaneous battles could occur around the map, whether in an airplane or a burger joint, and also for its diversity in game styles. Players can snipe from on top of buildings, or the cockpit of the plane, or hold down a specific area in objective based combat. For these reasons and many more, this news comes as a happy surprise to gamers everywhere. It has been said that the new map pack will be free to all gamers, not only those with CoD Elite. However, it has been maintained that the one month exclusivity deal with Xbox will, in fact, apply to this as well. Either way, we gamers eagerly await the time at which we can greet an old friend back onto the fields of combat.
UPDATE:
It looks like not only has Infinity Ward confirmed the new maps, they have set a date at which they come out. For Xbox, they will come out on July 17. For PS3 and PC, there is still no estimated time of arrival, but it will probably be some time in August.

because people like me HATE the way Black Ops 2 looks. Too futuristic for the COD franchise. Walking tanks? come on that is so gay. Plus I paid for my Elite Premium I’m getting my moneys worth through getting all maps, drops, etc without having to go out each month to buy the DLC. Thats why they will keep doing it, besides the pieces were 21 or something, still much more to come Black Ops 2 or not. Treyarch sucks major balls with cod games
I feel this is a cop out everything mw3 has done has been no different to mw2 no new badges to unlock (just elite and dif gun names) same ole cammo for guns theve put no effort into this and i feel theve let them selfs down. yes terminal was a great map bbut surly they should be working on a map that is better than ternimal its why there paid so much and people pay so much for the game plus elite.
To me feels like they cant b borthed with it any mre and given up tryin to keep there players heavly involved with the game. Roll on black ops 2 i say

You do need to change ye this mw3 has kept me involved the longest but that only due to me having elite and bein in a clan that has a laugh if i neva i prob would of gt maybe 2 map pack and then it would of been back on the shelf gather dust.
The problem with this game now is it name sells it not what the game is actuly like and i hope black ops 2 doesnt fall foul of this and learns from the mistakes and lack of inovation that i fell mw3 has to me they rush the game so the nxt modern warfare i may not be in such a rush to buy

I sure hope terminal will be available for wii. We don’t deserve to be shunned because we have a wii. We payed the same $60 for this game that all you Xbox, PC, and PS3 played did. We should get the same DLC’s and killstreaks (which are clearly lacking on the wii). Wii is a console too. We demand fair treatment on this all console page.
P.S. All console double XP weekends should include all consoles. Including Wii.

Actually Wii gamers pay less for their games, MW3 Wii, that’s not a diss it’s just a fact of life. You paid $49.99 compared to the $59.99 that PS3 and 360 gamers paid and that difference in cost was only added to in states that charge sales tax.
The Wii as a console isn’t strong enough to do a lot of the same things as the Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 and that is why your version of the game is watered down, not only can the console not handle games over a certain size, but even its gameplay discs are not of the same capacity, so to expect the exact same experience on a console where all forms of it’s hardware are inferior is expecting a little much. Plus I’m sure much of the DLC that hits the PS3 and 360 online stores would exceed the Wii’s limit for filesize.
Don’t complain to Infinity Ward, Activision, or gamers on other consoles, complain to Nintendo.
What about those of us gamers that bought 16 and 32 gig ad cards so it could handle more? And I payed $59.95 opening night for it I remember it.

Can’t wait! Does it come with the FREE Face Off maps or the ones you have to pay for?:( I agree with Chris Sutton but Hey, at least Black Ops 2 will have a change.

Oh and Leon? Yeah the maps Terminal and Shipbreaker were grouped together in Private Match, but it looks like they are saving Shipbreaker for later. Either it didn’t “make the cut” or it is being saved for a later map pack that hasn’t been announced. Probably the former. Only time will tell. Regardless, Terminal, as a single map, will be released for free to Elite members on the 17th, and “regulars” on the 18th (pardon my terminology).

I really enjoy Terminal, and I’m glad it’s coming back, but will the climbing in Terminal be the same? In MW2 you could climb on top of anything, but in MW3 climbing is VERY limited. So will it still be the Terminal we know? Or will the flanking routes and fun hiding spots that we learned through climbing disappear?
Why isn’t there a date for systems other than x box? Seems kinda messed up to me

They Need to Make More Small Maps Like Rust and Nuketown. Those Maps Are So Action Packed And Awesome. And Im Pretty Sure Everyone Agrees. Right? Terminal Was Good. But These Were Better
