Namco Bandai announced that it has pushed back the release date for its upcoming third person shooter Inversion. It was first dated to come out this month, but apparently the developers needed more time. The game made by Saber Interactive will now appear on June 5, 2012 in North America and June 8 in Europe. The extra development time is said to ensure an enjoyable and engaging experience with inclusion of several modes, such as co-op and multiplayer options.
The game is based on gravity manipulation and will therefore use this mechanic and destructible environments to create unique settings. Players will be able to form and use their own cover, hover through zero gravity or fling enemies at each other. Inversion will be available for Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
In addition, Namco also mentioned a related Android and iOS game called The Inversion Project, which will serve as a prelude to the full experience. This title will also feature third person action, cover use and gravity mechanisms. There are no further details on this as of yet.
