Deep Silver will release Iron Front – Liberation 1944 from developer X1 Software this week. This PC exclusive shooter runs on the successful ARMA II Operation Arrowhead engine; the longest-named engine of them all. In order to get ready, the publisher released some new info.
First off, the multiplayer mode of the game will include something called “Assassinate the Blondie.” In a most original take on competitive play, this mode pits 4 players in teams of two on a quest to kill Hitler’s dog. One duo will try to take the pet out, while the other has the important mission to prevent the downfall of the Fürher’s doggie.
Iron Front’s multiplayer allows for competitive play as well as cooperative missions. The dog killing mode will join “Capture the Flag” and “Attack and Defense” game options. Additionally, Iron Front will also come with an extensive mission editor for players to create and share their own.
Secondly, Deep Silver released a trailer to show off its vehicles. Quite like the infantry trailer before it, the tanks video also interlaces its whole with stock footage from the war. All game fragments are taken from actual gameplay, so all the destruction is as real as it can get.
