Is This the PS3…3?

Pictures of the new model of the PS3 have been discovered by the Brazilian site, Technoblog. Apparently the information has been viewed within a document from Sony to Anatel, the Brazilian telecommunications government agency (like our FCC). After studying the pictures, this model appears to be a bit of a change from the original PS3 model or the PS3 slim.

Some of the most notable features is that it appears to be even smaller in size than the slim model, there is no disc insert on the front, and the raised top of the model appears to be the tray for the disc, which seems like a step backwards in technology. The top of the model is ridged which makes the model look less sleek than the rest of Sony’s current systems. It still has mostly the same shape as the slim, however.

According to the Sony document, there will be three versions of this model: the CECH-4011A that has a surprisingly small hard drive of 16GB, the CECH-4011B (pictured) with a 250GB harddrive, and the CECH-4011C with a massive 500GB hard drive. Other than the drastically different hard drives, these three version will look and perform the same.

What new bells and whistles this PS3 model is going to have is still unknown as it hasn’t been officially announced by Sony yet. I will be checking daily for more info on this.
