Have some heart-warming news on us this end of July. Reverb Publishing has announced that the Jeremy McGrath, the star of their latest racing game, has successfully found a marrow donor for his wife Kim McGrath through the organization Bethematch.org.
Kim had already fought and won a battle with cancer 2 years ago, but was then diagnosed with leukemia. The couple didn’t give in and as Kim concentrated on her treatment, Jeremy in turn participated in almost 40 events to find a match for his spouse. In doing so, over 4000 people got tested.
To thank Bethematch.org for their life-saving match and to rase awareness and funds for the organization, Jeremy McGrath has decided to donate 100% of his share of the profits from Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad. For those of you paying attention, this doesn’t mean the total of profits from the game out now for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, but rather the full breadth of the racer’s royalties. The man added to that this statement: “The fact that Kim found a match is great news for us, but it is our hope that people will still get tested and join the Be the Match Registry. I would ask that companies that have charitable donation programs and those in the position to do something, please think about making a donation to Be The Match at any time throughout the year.”
You can also still help by purchasing the game now on Playstation Network or Xbox Live.
