Point and click adventure fans can rejoice that The Journey Down: Chapter One was released on Steam, this January 9. This episodic PC game mixes a dark atmosphere with lighter, more tropical vibes from Africa.
A recent post on Indie Statik explains that this game almost didn’t come to pass on Valve’s digital platform, as their first attempt failed. However, after some help from the excellent folks at Coffee Stain Studios, which made the first person puzzler Sanctum, they met with the company when they first discussed their Greenlight program. After some elbow work and friendly chatter, the rest was history.
You can now get it from Steam with a 20% discount for a limited time only. After that, you’ll need to pony up €5.99. However, in lieu of having this title land right when we ended our previous Twitter giveaway, we’ll give you another chance of winning some Steam games!
To win a Steam code for The Journey Down: Episode One, please do one of the following:
Method 1: Follow us on Twitter and retweet this message.
Method 2: Write a comment why you’d like to try the game. We uphold the right to dismiss superfluous “game pl0x” comments.
Winners will be determined on Monday, so act fact!
The game looks cool, would like to try it .
Huge fan of adventure games. Because of my severe hypermobility, my fine motor control and reflexes are lacking, and I find myself unable to proficiently play most games. Adventure games are one of the exceptions, and this is supposedly one of the better ones. Looking forward to giving it a try sometime.
Thank you very much for the game. I’m going to play it straight away!
Point ‘n Click. I’m sold
I hope it’s just a s much fun as Leasure Suit Larry from the old days, but I really want to find that out myself. So, I would really like to qualify for the Steam code for this!
I need something to redeem point and click after walking dead.. *shudder*
i love adventure games , like monky island or walking dead or deponia i really wish to have this game to play this weekend
because I’m interested to see how they depict these ‘african themes’ spoken of. Half my classes are about how the perception of Africa varies from reality and whether this hurts and such. It would be interesting to take this apart and write something on it.
I wanna try it out
