Risen 2: Dark Waters has been out on PC for a while now. The RPG sequel from Deep Silver, which head on down to the Caribbean for some swashbuckling action now also has a release date for consoles. The game will debark on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 3, 2012.

To set the mood, the publisher released an atmospheric trailer with nothing more than the world where Risen 2 takes place. As that iconic Dead Island trailer showed us last year, a captivating trailer needs soft, sweeping motions with a minimal soundtrack on the background. Slowly but surely, we explore the vistas of the game world and then head on down to the summery settlements. Once that mood is set, it’s off to the tribal villages where a single fire crackles in the night. You’ll feel the salty winds on your cheek by the time the last word, “Risen,” whispers through the air.
