Assassin's Creed III

Now that we have all the recaps done, let’s dig deeper into the news released during E3, since it was a lot. Ubisoft had more than just a press conference going on.

For starters, the publisher detailed the exclusive content that Assassin’s Creed will bring to Sony’s platforms. Gamers that pick up Assassin’s Creed III on PS3 can enjoy 4 exclusive singleplayer missions. Additionally, gamers that play both this game and the Vita version Liberation can unlock an exclusive tomahawk, character skin and multiplayer persona, along with ammunition upgrades.

Both Assassin’s Creed’s will also be available in a bundle on their respective platform and both will launch on October 31, 2012. The Vita version features an all-new female assassin called Aveline that operates in 18th century New Orleans. Naturally, this means the Vita version will add touchscreen and gyroscope features among others to improve gameplay.

This news comes accompanied by the reveal of another new title: Watch Dogs. Undoubtedly, you’ll have noticed this gem during E3, with anti-hero Aiden Pearce that uses the city and its networks as a weapon. This game is being produced by Ubisoft Montreal, which also made Assassin’s Creed, Rainbow 6 and Far Cry.

Perhaps not as stellar an announcement, another new game is being made called Just Dance: Disney Party. This game coming to Xbox 360 Kinect and Nintendo Wii on October 23, 2012 will merge the dance moves of the main franchise with classic and new Disney songs of both the Disney movies and its TV channel. Here’s an extensive playlist to enjoy with the whole family:

  • “The AristoCats” ( “Ev’rybody Wants to Be a Cat”)
  • “Beauty and the Beast” (“Be Our Guest”)
  • “Bolt” (“I Thought I Lost You”)
  • “Cinderella” (“Bibbidi-Bobbidi–Boo”)
  • “Enchanted” (“That’s How You Know”)
  • “The Jungle Book” (“The Bare Necessities”)
  • “Lilo & Stitch” (“Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride”)
  • “The Little Mermaid” (“Under the Sea”)
  • “Mary Poppins” (“Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious”)
  • “Peter Pan” (“Following the Leader”)
  • “Tangled” (“Something That I Want”)
  • “Tangled” (“I’ve Got a Dream”)
  • “The Muppets” (“The Muppet Show Theme”)
  • “Tinker Bell,” “Fly to Your Heart”
  • “A.N.T. Farm” (“Calling All the Monsters”)
  • “Camp Rock” (“This Is Me”)
  • “Good Luck Charlie” (“Hang In There Baby”)
  • “Hannah Montana” (“Hoedown Throwdown”)
  • “High School Musical” (“We’re All In This Together”)
  • “Jessie” (“Jessie Theme Song”)
  • “Phineas and Ferb” (“S.I.M.P.” “Squirrels In My Pants”)

  • “Shake It Up” (“Twist My Hips”)
  • “Wizards of Waverly Place” (“Everything Is Not As It Seems”)
  • A Disney Parks iconic song (“It’s a Small World”)

Ubisoft also finally has more clarity on the Bass mode for Rocksmith we reported on earlier. Apparently that was news that wasn’t known yet, live and learn. The Bass mode available for all platforms on its October 11, 2012 release date will come free and not only support a bass guitar. Guitar players can also mimic a bass with a 6-string that will use 4 strings. Additionally, multiplayer modes will allow for both bass and guitar to be played at the same time.

Additionally, Ubisoft is continuing its launch support of Nintendo’s consoles, now boasting the strongest line-up for Wii U as well with 8 games in total: Just Dace 4, Marvel Avengers: Battle For Earth, Rabbids Land, Rayman Legends, Sports Connection, Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013 and ZombiU.

Rayman Legends will actually allow for online leaderboards and such. ZombiU is being created by Ubisoft Montpellier, also responsible for games like From Dust and Beyond Good and Evil. This will let players walk through the zombie apocalypse in present day London. The Wii U controller will serve as a Bug Out Bag that holds all equipment and maps players need to survive. Additionally, the game will feature a “Zombie Master” multiplayer mode where the player with the Wii U controller will view an overhead map and will try to destroy the player on the main screen.

To close this piece, people that enjoyed our recent Ghost Recon: Future Soldier review but are part of the elite master race can rejoice, as UIbisoft announced a PC version to launch on June 28, 2012. It features much more extensive graphical options, such as DirectX 11 support.
