While the May issue of GameInformer is still far from its release, someone close to the company has made sure that gamers get the information they’re looking for a little early. New details about the upcoming Halo 4 have leaked from the magazine, adding to the already impressive list of new features that we’ve been hearing about.

As well as a new currency, a new multiplayer game mode, and some changes to the game’s spawn and weaponry systems, there are some technical features that are sure to impress. The game runs in a native 720P resolution with fast-approximate anti-aliasing support. New animations and physics have also been added to mimic the effects of wearing a bulky suit during gameplay.

Story-wise, the game is set almost five years after the final scenes of Halo 3. Master Chief’s persona will be a more important part of the story than it previously has been, and players will learn more as they play through the game about their hero. The developers have stated that an all new faction will be included, using a weapon system similar to that of the Covenant.

New environments will also be included, particularly for multiplayer. Based on insider information, it seems like the game focuses more on large, open areas than the previous Halos have. Expect huge environments with significantly more living material than past games, both in single-player and in multiplayer gameplay.

A few interface and weapon loadout tweaks aside, that’s it for Halo 4′s leaked information. We’ll be keeping our eyes out for the upcoming GameInformer and relaying any new information right back to you, since this is definitely a title to watch out for.
