Microsoft Lawsuit

Motorola Mobility Holdings, which is a subsidiary of Google, received a favorable ruling for its lawsuit against Microsoft, according to Gamasutra. In this trial, the Google company claimed that Xbox 360 consoles infringed 5 of their patents upon production. Four out of five of these claims have now gone through a first round of rulings, which could land Microsoft in a pickle.

If the motion is carried through the full commission that decides the final ruling, Motorola Mobility will be able to stop Xbox 360 goods from accessing the States, unless an agreement is made between the two parties.

Both parties are still convinced that the final ruling will fall on their behalf. A spokesperson of Microsoft is said to have stated: “Motorola will be held to its promise to make its standard-essential patents available on fair and reasonable terms.”
