In an effort to nip the newest MW3 exploit in the bud, Infinity Ward has started giving immediate 6 day bans to anyone caught using the ‘Damange Glitch’, whereby users found a way to attach the shotgun-only Damage perk to non-shotgun weapons. This resulted in insane 1-2 shot kills from rifles at any distance. We’re not going to tell you how it’s done, because you don’t need to be doing it.
While a 6 day ban may not seem like a stiff enough punishment, the public embarrassment that comes from the hilarious manner in which Infinity Ward has elected to reset their stats may be. The users over at mw3forum.com have discovered that everyone caught using the glitch will be reset to level 1 and have all of their stats reset except losses and deaths. This means that if you had a W/L of 120-34 and a K/D of 2384/987 your new W/L ratio would be 0-34 and your new K/D would be 0 kills and 987 deaths. Even if the glitchers try and play legitimately after the reset they will always be saddled with hilariously low W/L and K/D ratios going forward.
For those of you that aren’t cheating, enjoy the next 6 days of glitcher-reduced gameplay and make sure to point and laugh at anyone that comes back from the bans with a comically low 0.000000001 K/D ratio as a result of the reset
This is a Brilliant Way of getting back at the Noobs who Cheat. And i will be watching just incase one of those noobs comes into my game… then there will be some words said

How didn’t the token glitch affect others play? Extra tokens = extra dbl xp or unlock weapons early
well… i dont use the token glitch and it doesn’t affect other players only affects you
The system of banning people can only work if the cheaters are reported by someone. If you want to get rid of cheaters, report them, don’t just wait for someone else to.

why should patch every glitch befor they release CoD
Assuming they can find all the glitches before the game comes. I’m sure they corrected all the ones they found while testing it.
That’s not a punishment, all they’ll do is create another profile and be back in the lobby glitching after a half hour wait. Ban their ip address for 6 months and then make it so the next 6 months they play they only do half damage. This is war people – act like it!
I don’t think that deliberately making people *worse* at the game is a good idea, because that just makes it unfair. But, by IW’s and Sledgehammer’s logic, they probably will, bearing in mind that they might be introducing downloadable guns.
Its not even a cheat. Its an exploit that was left in the game by Sledgehammer themselves. Why should they “punish” others for using the exploit that THEY left in the game that they seem to put together in literally 5 minutes?

Something tells me that this guy thinks he should be rewarded for getting killed 200 times by a glitcher, then going online and figuring out how to do the glitch on a website.. only to be banned after going 20-1 for the first time in his miserable life.
Play the game, don’t try to cheat, and if you figure out an exploit or hear of one, report it to them so they can patch it. If you cheat, that just means you suck. Might as well keep you off my game for 6 days.

So your telling me as a developer you would actually go through the steps that it takes to do both glitches? Doubtful,it’s such a random series of steps to accomplish that,I doubt any developer would even think about doing them.

Because coding at this level is not easy. At the end of the day the cheater is using the game ‘not as it was originally intended’. That’s cheap and you all deserve a swift kick to the nuts.

Everyone’s going to get shot around corners for as long is hit detection is around. That’s not a problem with the game, that’s a problem with the internet.

Well, what you’re saying there is that we shouldn’t play games which aren’t mainstream. I can’t give exact numbers, but I know that there isn’t much of a difference between the number of people who play call of duty and the people who play battlefield. Maybe you’re not trying to make a point at all, apart from that you say that Battlefield is a bad game.

I was wondering why in the hell I’d here a shotgun, I’m dead and then the I see the guy was at a far distance away killing me. I was like wtf, that quick/easy. lol
While a reset will work, it will only work temporarily. They can just round up all their hurrrrr durrrr friends and just boost. Easy as that.
im not gunna lie. i play more skyrim at the moment so i will do this glitch and get banned the honor of getting negative stats.lol

why ban them with just that make there death ratio triple and there only gun has to be a shotgun because of this glitch also have it do miniscule stopping power
people who hack or mod are no life scrubs its one thing to be good at the game and half no life but be bad enough that you need to cheat and have no life man all i have to say is forever alone
People who cheat (people who give themselves an unfair advantage) have no life, yeah, but people who mod entire lobbies are just having fun messing with physics and stuff.
I can care less about my stats. I haven’t used the glitch but I might now lol
why glitch when u can rape with the spas-12 and model 1887 without dmg or range just learn the maps and avoid long range gun fights
They really should have put alot more time and effort into this game than they did. They basically put out a broken game. Sure they’re fixing things but it would have been better to have fixed them before release.
there are still loads of aimbotters & wallhackers, and still nothing done to drastically reduce / eliminate all of them from ruining our games.

If you have to cheat to play a GAME, why bother to play? I know I will be playing against cheaters, it is inevitable. When I played paintball (in my younger days)players cheated by wiping off hits or cranking up the FPS on their guns. I finally quit paintball, it was too costly to play when there was so much cheating, it was pointless to spend money for that. I guess I’ve mellowed a bit, the cheating still bugs me but at least I’m not spending $100-$200 each day I play. I’m glad IW is making an effort to reduce the cheating, but I know it will never stop the cheaters, because they are cheaters.
To be honest there is no reason to ban people for doing this. They are using a perfectly legitimate strategy that was brought about by a failure from IW, not actually modding it. This is not hacking, it is the optimal playstyle…
Saying that though, it should be fixed ASAP.
It’s sad that people have to cheat.. just shows they have no real talent and were never taught a lesson on how to play fair… and I’m glad they are getting banned and their stats reset.
I have no problem reporting people that glitch during a game, and our clan does the same. We’re all on the same page.
So I hope everyone else reports the boosters/ cheaters/ modders so we can rid them of online game play.
How about banning the host as well…any smart gamer or programmer will know that with host you’ll get the same results killing your opponent with a few shots compared to the gamer who doesn’t host and needs to empty an entire clip before getting the kill IF they are lucky enough to survive the few hits it usually takes to get killed by the host or player with favorable connection…the damage proficiency doesn’t make a difference. I’ve played with the damage proficiency and got killed just as easy by someone who doesn’t have it but has a favorable connection, and ended up with a miserable KD ratio at the end of the game. If anything, the damage proficiency evens the playing field for the gamer with the lousy connection.
the thing is… this deserves a ban but im not quite so sure the prestige token did i mean ya it was an exploit but it wasnt game ruining like this damage glitch… so why dont they get the 1000 losses and 10000 deaths like the prestige token guys… thats really unfair
How do people find these glitches anyway? Do they go, “I will wander the map until I find a glitch.”
