Mysterious Starship and Pocket Classics On Euro eShop This Week
Nintendo returns the attention to the Wii U in this week’s European eShop downloads. There are still plenty of titles coming to 3DS, but at least those other gamers get some as well.
Still, this week’s largest title is for Nintendo 3DS. European gamers can now download Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity and get their dungeon crawling skills tweaked for €39.99. Enter random locations with one of 5 Pokémon and loot anything you see. Another awaited title is The Starship Damrey, from Professor Layton developer Level-5, who also made the excellent Ni No Kuni game. This game with a €7.99 price tag lets players awaken on a mysterious ship with no clues whatsoever and it’s up to them to discover what the adventure is all about. It sounds alluring, since mysteries raise human curiosity. Hopefully it’s not like that dreadful Molyneux game. Moving on, Nintendo continues to release its Mega Man titles in sequence, so it’s time for Mega Man 5 to drop on the eShop for €4.99.
There is some DSiWare as well, which comes in the form of Retro Pocket. For a price of €4.99, players can go back to the heyday of Game & Watch portables with a set of mini-games presented as black and white LED screens. It’s a miracle that Nintendo isn’t suing this game, seeing the similarities.
Wii U owners can get their hands on a few classics, including Super Mario Bros 2, which will cost €4.99. This is the oddball title in the series and even includes a playable Princess Peach, which was used as a hot topic in Tropes vs Women in Video Games, a series that evaluates feminist ideals on Youtube. Those that want a bigger challenge can grit their teeth at Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts for €7.99. This series is known for its armor-shattering platform gameplay and stylish pixel art. Yours truly owns all these titles and in particular its Japanese edition has caused some tears, but it’s strangely compelling anyway.
As a special mention for Wii U owners, feel free to pick up the demo of Resident Evil: Revelations, as the HD remake prepares its launch later this month. Moreover, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will receive a permanent price drop this week and will go from €54.99 to €29.99.
Feel free to tell us if you’re picking anything up this week.
