War of the roses

Paradox Interactive will be getting medieval on us all. More specifically, it has announced new content for their titles War of the Roses and Crusader Kings II.

Recently, the publisher announced that their war game War of the Roses would receive permanent attention from a dedicated studio. This team will be led by Executive Producer Gordon Van Dyke, known from the Battlefield series. The PC multiplayer title is currently sporting a solid reception with a 76 Metacritic score.

Now, the team is preparing the first of a series of updates. This first batch of content will offer 7 new weapons in total, amongst which a horn spanned crossbow and a gothic mace. The weapons will get accompanied by a new customizable Heavy Armor, as well as a new helmet and several visors.

This winter, additional content will see 2 new maps and 2 game modes broaden the game. One of these modes is called Pitched Battle where players will need to value their lives. It will go into Beta “soon.” Two new maps will be inspired by historical conflicts in Wakefield and Towton, which both took place during harsh winters. Due to this, new weather factors will be introduced with these battlefields, such as snow that hinders both parties.

The feudal strategy title Crusader Kings II, in turn, released their second expansion called Legacy of Rome. After already adding a Muslim touch to the PC title, this new add-on, with additional 1.07 patch, puts a lot more decisive diplomacy in the game and updates the interface with new and better options. The DLC is priced at $4.99.
