Paradox Interactive has announced a new game in collaboration with Cyanide. This studio is responsible for the recent Game of Thrones adaptation and its work on Of Orcs and Men. They’ve now announced a strategy title called Impire to release for PC in Q1 2013.
The game strikes a resemblance to another Paradox title in production called A Game of Dwarves, which in turn follows the classic Dungeon Keeper. In Impire, players will control an army of these imps as they struggle to reclaim the world for their master Báal-Abaddon. The fiendish demon sees itself trapped in the foul body of a lowly imp by an incompetent wizard, but using its cunning it will overthrow the world step by step and regain its demonic form.
Players will be able to create and manage a custom built dungeon filled with several room types and an array of traps. These defenses will work towards warding off the despicable human threat that wants to rout you out. More so, armies of imps can also be sent to the surface to usurp the Earth from a pitiful mankind. All souls reaped will serve towards the construction of a better and more powerful dungeon.
Aside from a campaign, Impire will include a cooperative mode, as well as several competitive multiplayer options to squash your pesky friends once and for all. Impire is set in the Majesty world of Ardania, as was Warlock and several other titles before it.
