Paradox Interactive has announced new content for its strategy hit Crusader Kings II. The game will receive its second expansion, exclusively for PC, somewhere in Q4 2012.
The downloadable content will be called Legacy of Rome and therefore revolve around the last hurrah of the empire. Players will need to stay wary of their surroundings, as vassals now bond together to create stronger revolts. Luckily, vassals will also be streamlined more, as your levies are raised primarily through your direct vassal. Technology will yield the ability to raise a standing army in your domain and royal factions will allow you to enhance your position and take on rivals. More so, there’s no need to stay dependent of one patriarch; the DLC will enable the use of Orthodox figureheads.
Armies will enjoy improvement in leadership, as generals receive a lot more traits and their importance has been increased in battle, so choose your leaders wisely. Your ruler on the other hand will be able to improve skills and traits in a new Self-improvement system. Naturally, Legacy of Rome will add specific regional events surrounding the empire. The whole shebang will cost $9.99.
A more recent release will come with the launch of multiplayer brawler Starvoid. Paradox Interactive has launched a preorder campaign that will give any purchase a free copy to gift to a friend. More than just an effective 50% discount, this will also allow you and your buddy to enter the game already, before its release later this week. If building robot armies and taking out others in a wild skirmish is up your alley, then head on down to Steam or your other selected digital platform to get 2 copies today. You’ll find the list of eligible channels here.
