Developer Rocket Surgeon launched an open beta for their upcoming Facebook game For the People: Fantasy Politics. That’s great news for those that followed the live debate between candidate Mitt Romney and current president Barack Obama. Now you can get involved in the engaging world of politics.
Players will represent their preferred state and get placed aside real politicians in this virtual world. All the aspects of a political figure are there. You’ll need to go into negotiations and place solid arguments via a card system. Planning your next strategies will be done from your headquarters and there you’ll also receive lobbyists. Those eager to make Jim Lehrer stutter like he did at the debate can attend these virtual events as well, where they’ll argue with other candidates.
In a possible insidious turn of events, a daily poll will collect data on your opinions for real and less real events in politics. This could be easily used for outside purposes, even by just playing and collecting the results shown on screen. In the future, the game is said to receive even more mini-games and a system to predict winners for the actual election. Lastly, you’ll be able to craft your own legislation and perhaps assist to bring hot topics into the presidential race.
