Adobe Creative Suite 2

Adobe is currently releasing its Creative Suite family to anyone who registers a free account. How does this involve gaming news? Well, these are prime tools to acquire and master for anyone interested in art and game design. Indie developers short on cash can save a ton of money with this professional tool set to create and animate their vision. Here’s the list of available programs, available for both Mac and PC:

  • Creative Suite 2
  • Acrobat 3D 1.0 for Windows
  • Acrobat Standard 7.0
  • Acrobat Pro 8.0
  • Audition 3.0
  • GoLive CS2
  • Illustrator CS2
  • InCopy CS2
  • InDesign CS2
  • Photoshop CS2
  • Photoshop Elements 4.0/5.0
  • Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0

Their website is currently getting crushed under traffic, so you might want to have some patience, but dive in right now, as we don’t know how long this treat lasts. We also advise looking into some simple basic tutorials for designing, in case you need it. There is a world of documentation available to help you in to the design trade.

UPDATE: As pointed out in the Adobe forums, the link is only meant to be used for people with existing licenses to acquire working serial numbers. It is not, as stated earlier, an act of sudden generosity on their part. That’s a shame, but it’s their product, so understand that it’s their decision either way. Therefore, we are removing the link to the site.

This is not accurate. They listed the serials in response to their activation servers for CS2 going down permanently on December 15th. They expect that only license holders of CS2 will download and install using the valid serial numbers listed on their site. This does not mean that the software is being given away to all for free. Those who use this software without purchasing to make any substantial amount of money will be facing legal action from Adobe… just some words of warning so that indie developers do not get screwed.

Adobe Scientist Dob Isaac says “You have heard wrong! Adobe is absolutely not providing free copies of CS2!
What is true is that Adobe is terminating the activation servers for CS2 and that for existing licensed users of CS2 who need to reinstall their software, copies of CS2 that don’t require activation but do require valid serial numbers are available.”
