There is more news from QuakeCon 2012. Now that the event has wrapped up, we received a few more interesting assets for Dishonored and Doom 3: BFG Edition.
Dishonored revealed a star-studded cast with top of the line actors. If this is a rising trend, we’re all for it. As long as we don’t forget that voice actors have their own place in their craft. Anyway, the stealth action game will include Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, known for her role in Thelma & Louise. She’ll be voicing Granny Rags, a deranged blind lady.
Brad Dourif, who portrays Wormtongue in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, will take on the role of inventor Pierro, the man responsible for that illustrious mask and the amount of gadgets that the protagonist wields. None other than Princess Leia, or rather Carrie Fisher, will be heard spouting propaganda through the city’s speaker system. Amongst many other actors, Michael Madsen of Kill Bill and Reservoir Dogs will play a hitman. Sound arrangements will come from Dexter composer Daniel Licht.
Bethesda also released screenshots for both Dishonored and Doom 3: BFG Edition. The first shows more of its Victorian settings, along with several scenic shots that show just how gorgeous the dilapidated world is. Some of its residents also wear some strange masks; much stranger than the protagonist.
In Doom 3: BFG Edition, we primarily see gameplay shots that include lots of fiery color tones. Red and brown rule the hellish landscape with monstrous enemies. The updated graphics look decent, though we’re not certain if this will be enough to bridge the gap to modern and more potent titles.
