Ubisoft has announced to release a retail edition to their free-to-play game The Settlers Online. The Starter Pack will grant players a kick start of 2.500 gems as well as several buildings that give the player a starting edge. Additionally, the retail version comes with a strategy guide for the game. The Settlers Online Starter Pack is available starting March 29, 2012.

On the same date, the publisher and developer Blue byte will be updating the free-to-play browser game with topical content for Easter. Players will be able to gather Easter eggs until April 19, 2012 to gain new in-game items. These eggs will also serve as currency to purchase an array of new buildings, units and other items. For instance, a new powerful general that is limited to 1 per player will allow 50 more units than others. He will also be transferable to the game after the event has stopped. More so, players will be able to purchase the iconic Raving Rabbid statue, which screams if clicked.
