Good news for everyone that enjoyed the earlier released Shoot Many Robots from Demiurge Studios. The developer is currently preparing free-to-play competitive multiplayer version of the game.
The standalone title called Shoot Many Robots: Arena Kings will be available via Steam and is currently in closed Beta. It takes its royal subtitle to heart with its game mode Royal Flush, in which players kill each other, take fallen crowns and proceed to flush these down a teleporting toilet. We wish we were making this up, but we’re not.
Gamers can sign up here for the Beta s they wait to be given a key, which are regularly sent out. You can also pester sign up friends by adding their email, if you would like more familiar faces going down the toilet. Participants are encouraged to let their imagination run wild and offer feedback on how to improve the zany experience, though the quirkiness of the original is already well in place. Will Jennings, lead designer on Arena Kings, mentioned: “While I’ve got notebooks full of weapons, special moves, and pants I can’t wait to add, what’s really exciting is getting to hear from players in the earliest stages of the game’s development and giving them what they’re asking for.”
Free To Play on ps3?
Right now, only Steam is confirmed. As I take it the project is not under Ubisoft, it could be a funding issue to get it to consoles, certainly given the lack of F2P titles on them.
