Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Goes 3D
After a rather successful release on consoles and PC, Sega’s racing title Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed finally lands on Nintendo 3DS. The 3D version will be available at retail on February 8, 2013 in Europe. However, North America will need to wait 4 days longer for the game to drop.
Handheld owners will be able to use their own Mii characters to race. Additionally, the 3DS will feature StreetPass options that allows for up to 7 players to join the race. Single cartridge gameplay possibilities will be available. Players can transform their vehicle in over 20 tracks with 22 characters, including iconic Sega characters as well as Wreck-it Ralph or Nascar star Danica Patrick.
A limited edition will usher in the 3DS release, as long as supplies last. It contains the extra Metal Sonic character, but more importantly it will have an exclusive Outrun-themed track. We enjoyed the console version of this game immensely, in particular for these expertly designed tracks, so make sure to pick up a copy for your 3D handheld if you’re hurting for games right now.
