Gamescom, the world’s largest video game expo, is only a few short minutes away, and rumor has it that Sony will be unveiling quite a bit during their press conference on Tuesday, August 14.

What exactly Sony will unveil is a mystery (as it should be). But speculators have speculated that it will in fact not be the new model of the PS3. The pictures of the model surfaced weeks ago, and Sony has yet to make any official statements about the system. At first the 16GB hard drive was considered a potential typo (that it really meant 160GB), but now the assumers are assuming that this small hard drive model is serious and will have a dramatic cut in price, meaning more people will happily buy it to play all of the PlayStation’s exciting but exclusive games that are coming up this holiday season.

But who knows really? Sony might just reveal their new PS3 model and shock everybody. That’s the exciting part.

On the other hand, it is understood that Sony will be really boosting the Vita during their time at Gamescom. Most likely, Sony will be focusing on the games that will really make the Vita stand out, such as Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation or PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale which will strongly support the cross-play capabilities of the Vita. Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, which will most likely be another big power house for the system, will also most likely have a big part considering it was only teased at E3.

Sony may also be revealing more completely new games for the Vita at Gamescom. And if the Vita really needs anything, it’s more games.
