Get ready for a summer filled with RPG elements; there are a ton coming out in the next few months. Nordic Games released a new trailer for SpellForce 2 – Faith in Destiny, after delaying its May release due to Diablo III. Now that Blizzard’s behemoth is out and the online flames of discontent have been put out, we can enjoy SpellForce’s story introduction.
There isn’t much to go by; it’s mostly just some ominous dark force and a war for justice and all that fantastical razzmatazz. Additionally, hand drawn panels seem to be in lately. Luckily, Nordic Games also released more solid info on the game itself.
For one, Faith in Destiny will use a new control system that is said to be perfected for instant action and the best overview. More than likely, this will be a hotbar of sorts, judging from the newly released screenshots. More so, the game will introduce a new Domination multiplayer map that will revolve on capturing and holding points in order to reap the benefits of the land and grow more powerful.
Faith in Destiny also introduces a new race, complete with buildings, which will also be available in multiplayer. Lastly, the game proudly states that for the first time ever, players will be able to ride a dragon.
The RTS/RPG hybrid expansion of SpellForce 2 is dated for June 19, 2012 on PC.
