Final Fantasy XIV

Square Enix isn’t just giving up on its failed attempts at another Final Fantasy MMO. It has announced the rerelease of the oft overlooked 14th iteration, now redubbed Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.

The game for PC and Playstation 3 received a rather tepid welcome, as it was critiqued for its lackluster gameplay with several flaws that made it feel incomplete. It currently is rated at 49 on Metacritic. In order to get new interests going, the developers have completely reworked the format, even down to graphics, stories and cutscenes. As such, some of the previously available content will disappear, since it will no longer be relevant to the new setting. A full list of discontinued features can be found in their official forums here.

The real questions stays: Will you return to the realm of Final Fantasy XIV?
