Steam Backtracks On Daily Deal

Today’s daily deal form Steam is a quirky, little rhythm game called Sequence. It infuses RPG elements in order to rig itself around the rhythm mechanics and features about 10 hours of story. The daily deal discount was first noted to be 75%, but apparently something went awry at the Valve office and it’s now reduced to a 50% cut.

Of course, this is nitpicking with a giant N, because the game sells at the whopping full price of $3.99/€3.99. The half price discount has descended it to a mere $1.99/€1.99 and that’s not a lot of cash. Indium Studios is an independent developer and they don’t ask for much. It’s just weird to see Steam backtrack on its discounts like that. It’s probably just an oversight. That or they’re tired of having to cater to cheapskates.

If you notice the first one, it says 75% in the title, then the very next line says Todays Deal : Save 50% off Sequence.

Obviously someone made a mistake in the posting… nothing to see here, move along.

^That’s because the item had already been altered before the screenshot was taken. That’s why the link is provided, so you can see that both items have now been adjusted.
If you notice the hours of postage, the first doesn’t match up with the later item of 75%. So the copy above still shows the original intent.

So yes, it is probably an error, but as such it’s more a string of errors.
