Valve is well known for its love of the modding community, and a new Steam feature introduced in the last few days has cemented them as one of the gaming industry’s best developers for modders. A new Steam feature called ‘Steam Collections’ allows users to group together mods that they’d like to download, and add them to their Steam games in a simple one-click process.
For games like Skyrim, this can save a massive amount of time that would be spent unzipping files and moving them to other folders. What could have been hundreds of individual downloads is now a simple one-click process. The Steam Collections feature is only available for games with Steam Workshop content available, which is currently just Skyrim and Team Fortress 2.
Valve has said that Workshop content will be made available for other games in the future, so that gamers who aren’t interested in Skyrim or Team Fortress 2 can also enjoy the feature. For now, we recommend queueing up your favorite Skyrim mods and downloading them in one foul sweep – a simple process that gamers have been waiting years to enjoy.
