Crytek’s proprietary engine CryEngine 3 is more than just a toolset for games. Another branch from this engine called Cinebox is proving to be a powerful utility for movie creation.

As shown in the trailer, this specialized item takes all the best elements from the CryEngine’s core and adapts this to crate computer generated imagery fit for Hollywood. For instance, we can see adaptive lighting that casts off characters and scenery realistically. These characters can be implemented with motion capture sequences for that extra touch of realism. Cinebox can also calculate an impressive amount of particle physics, shown by a wall exploding in a million tiny bits. The whole can be previewed in its final quality, before being rendered for a result worthy of any presentation.
