Ubisoft has created a unicum in the game world. The publisher has announced that it will release The Expendables 2, based off the blockbuster film. This means that this will be the first sequel game to come out with no real prior release to predate it.

In any case, The Expendables will take players on a mission to rescue a kidnapped millionaire. Naturally, players will be able to work in team to direct this machismo title of guns and explosions. Up to 4 players offline and online will shoot their way through the exotic locales.

A first batch of screenshots reveal that the game will use the likenesses of the movie’s actors, such as Sylvester Stallone and Dolph Lundgren. Did you know the two already had both of their likenesses used in the previous generation game Rocky?  In any case, we can also see a set of different sections, such as several shooting galleries and third person action. And how about that skydiving shot, ey?

The Expendables 2 will release for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC later this summer.
