Chicks dig Gamesta!

Carmageddon is coming back and that’s great news for all the old people among us. The original dated all the way back to 1997.
This is part of a promotion for an entirely new game, dubbed Carmageddion Reincarnation. Developer Stainless Games, also known for the current iterations of Magic: The Gathering titles, recently reacquired the rights back to their own game, which have taken them to Kickstarter for a reboot. This was met with much enthusiasm and the new project has passed with about 10 days to spare, bringing in the necessary $400K needed. You can still pledge right here.
The GOG.com inclusion of the original is part of this funding campaign and as such, everyone that contributes $25 or more will receive a free voucher from the site to download this classic. Trevor Longino of GOG.com mentioned: “Many of us at GOG.com are big fans of the Carmageddon franchise. Being able to help support the developers by providing backers with copies of this classic game was just icing on the cake for us.”
If for some reason you’d like to play the original without backing the new one, GOG.com will also simply sell the game for $9.99 in the near future. Speaking of which, the site will also host their Group Summer Conference tomorrow on May 30, 2012 at 5PM GMT. You’ll be able to follow it live right here.
