After a rather lengthy process, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes from Focus Home Entertainment will finally release this week for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. This is commemorated with a rather unfitting launch trailer. At least, the lore doesn’t set up reasons for a Hollywood blockbuster teaser, but perhaps the game itself will change that.

In this game, players will witness the detective lose credibility and spiral down into hell. Holmes finds himself abandoned and persecuted in Victorian London of 1898. He’ll have to solve this mystery as if his life depended on it, because it most probably will. Naturally, these dark omens will have their fair share of peculiar plot twists and the grand scheme of it all will be revealed to adept players in the end.
