Darksiders II THQ

We said we were only going to focus on good THQ news from now on and these days there’s a ton of that. First off, they’ve beaten the system and have not been delisted from the stock market, due to some ingenious stock splitting. Now that the ordeal is behind them, enjoy some trailers from their core franchises.

First up is Darksiders II, which is looking better as it approaches its impending release. The latest trailer gives you an insight on the story, along with revealing less pre-rendered models for characters and locations. The apocalypse has been brought upon the earthly realm and wiped out mankind, as demons and angels fight their eternal struggle. It’s up to none other than Death itself to restore the ways of the world as they once were. This will take us through hellish environments that contain vast open realms, abominable structures, but also some more urban environments with demonic activity. As Death is one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the strange protagonist will also be seen riding several mounts, such as a flaming horse or a flying griffin. The end also hints at giant devils, possibly colossal in nature.

Next up is WWE ’13, which features its Live mode in a new trailer. Here, we learn about the overhauls the wrestling title will receive for this year’s iteration in more illustrative detail. For instance, the sound is reworked to dynamically adapt itself to the current situation in and out of the ring. Where WWE ’12 could get a tad repetitive, this year the sound has been updated through remastering of the crowd, commentary, mat and ring sounds to sound better than ever. If anything, it just adds more ruckus.

Furthermore, character models have been adapted once more and the larger wrestler will now receive bigger characters to truly show off their towering physical presence in the ring. Lastly, the Predator system has been updated with more enhancements, in order to create more reactive gameplay that can alter situations better, just like real superstars.
