It’s not exactly the most shocking news in the world, but Treyarch just revealed at E3 that DLC in Black Ops 2 will have timed exclusive releases on the Xbox 360 just as the last few Call of Duty games have.
If you’ve been following Gamesta for news about about MW3 DLC you will recall that each piece of DLC has released at least one month earlier on the Xbox 360 than it has on the PS3. This is due to an agreement that was reached between Microsoft and Activision whereby Microsoft pays for a period of exclusivity with each DLC release. That deal has been renewed and will continue with Black Ops 2.
We’re not exactly sure how much of an affect the temporarily exclusive DLC has on buyer’s purchasing decisions, but Microsoft must feel that it’s worthwhile since they continue to renew the deal. Let us know how it affects your purchasing decisions in the poll below.

I’m only getting it on my Xbox because that is the one i play on more. since i have both I’ll get BO2 at Christmas for my playstation.
Timed DLC doesn’t really bother me and PS3 get BF3 DLC early i think

come on guys dont be impatient now. so what activison just wants money they cant get all of it from selling games. i would understand 3 months then i’ll be upset up with this to. but look at a plus side becuase x box gamers will post gameplay in each map and you can determine if you still want to buy it or not

I understand you, but we made a deal with Activison. Therefore, we get the DLC first. We both pay hard money for the DLC also. I mean don’t you guys get DLC for Battlefield first anayways? Maybe PS3 can step up and say “hey, let’s make a deal.” When that happens, you get the DLC before us.

Did you read the top of the article? The reason why Xbox 360 get the DLC first beacuse agreement between Microsoft and Activision. The deal was Microsoft pays for a period of exclusivity with each DLC release in exchange for the 360 people to get the DLC first.

Objection! PSN plus isn’t required it’s optional.
Xbox live isn’t if you want to play online so we pay for online (And better security) while PSN is free with poor security so we deserve DLC first

K, we’ve all seen Black Ops 2 Trailer/Gameplay. Black Ops 2 gameplay kinda looks like killzone, by the looks of it…I’ll probally get BO2 on the ps3, because ps3 is I what usually play……..And we all know that ps3 is free to sign up to play online games and xbox, i’m pretty sure they pay 60$ or less if they want to play online. So, I think xbox gamers deserves to get the DLC first and then Ps3/pc after, Just like mw3.

Guess i won’t get black ops2 until the first dlc for ps3 comes out and play assassins creed 3 instead. I’m also going to skip out on buying elite2.0 because it is a waste imo.
It won’t affect which console I’ll buy it for, it will affect whether I buy it at all. I nearly got Battlefield 3 instead of MW3 but thought I’d go with it. Assuming there is going to be a Battlefield 4, I’d rather buy that. Especially after paying extra money for Elite which was an even bigger waste of money.

Hello, I know online is not all the console. I’m saying because of their online and Xbox’s capabitiy, I choose the Xbox 360 over the PS3. Yes I do agree with you about the new software that PS3 has because of the hack last year. I know all the Xbox’s hardware and software. If you don’t know Xbox is basiocally a computer, then obviously you are dumbass. Online is just a small amount of what the Xbox is made up. I have both systems and I know all their weaknesses and strengths. I have custom built BOTH systems myself. PS3 Hardware > Xbox Hardware, Xbox Software = PS3 Software, Xbox Online > PS3 Online

Just because you Xbox whores pay for XBL, doesn’t mean you fucking deserve to get DLC first. That makes absolutely no fucking sense about how you got to the conclusion that you are “entitled” to DLC first JUST because you pay for XBL. We deserve it just as much as you do. Just because we have the option to pay for Online doesn’t mean that you deserve it and we don’t. Do we not have the DLC first for BF3? We do. And does everyone on PS3 pay for PSN Plus? No, we don’t. So does us having DLC first for BF3 mean that you don’t deserve it? No it doesn’t. Not only that, but ALSO PS3 is getting Exclusive (Not timed I believe) DLC for Far Cry 3 AND Assassin’s Creed 3.
