Square Enix announced specs for the PC version of Tomb Raider. The Lara Croft reboot will be produced for computers in association with the Dutch studio Nixxes. This partnership between them and main developer Crystal Dynamics is over a decade in the making. We’ll list the specs below:
Minimum system requirements
- AMD Radeon HD 2600 XT
- nVidia 8600
- AMD Athlon64 X2 2.1 Ghz (4050+)
- Intel Core2 Duo 1.86 Ghz (E6300)
Recommended system requirements
- AMD Radeon HD 4870
- nVidia GTX 480
- AMD Phenom II X2 565
- Intel Core i5-750
There will be additional options to ensure the top quality for this title on PC. For instance, it will integrate Steamworks for cloud saves, multiplayer matchmaking and so on. Should you want to play on a TV anyway, the game is adaptable to Steam’s Big Picture mode and controller friendly.
For high end graphics, there will be high resolution textures and shadows will be available. Detail tessellation and algorithms should provide improved surfaces, as well as enhanced SSAO and water and post-filter effects. Quality will also be applied to depth of field with additional near-blur. Finally, adaptable LOD quality is available for high-end rigs.
However, as viewable from the minimum specs, Crystal Dynamics expressed the importance of having modest setups run the game as well. Therefore they’ve made sure to have the game run on Windows XP and will offer many scalable options to improve gameplay.
Tomb Raider will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 on March 5, 2013.
