Sony’s new portable game console, the PlayStation Vita, is out in ten days, and the game developer wants to be absolutely sure that every gamer knows how it works. From the constant press releases about the system’s PSP compatibility and online offerings to launch titles, we’ve seen a huge amount of pre-release information for the Vita – much more than we’ve seen for most portables.
Now, Sony’s released a cool twelve minute video that walks gamers through the system, showing off what it’s got, what it can do, and what games you’ll be able to play on it after release. Features include a cool link-up feature that connects the console with a PlayStation 3, the ability to load up saved PS3 games on your Vita, and built-in 3G online networking for downloads and gaming.
All in all, it’s looking like a pretty impressive piece of technology. While the initial PSP launch was plagued with difficulties ranging from faulty batteries to ‘ejecting’ UMD discs, it looks like Sony is on top of things with the Vita. The console launches nationwide on the 22nd, and if you’re a serious portable gaming fan, you owe it to yourself to pick one up.
