Monolith is still working hard on their Lord of the Rings game Guardians of Middle-Earth, after their release of another franchise: Gotham City Impostors. A series of battle profiles are planned, with the first being released around Gollum and Gandalf.
Gollum will revolve on doing crazy damage to make up for his scrawny demeanor that gives him limited health and resistances. One of his powers is called “We Are Starved,” which leeches health from an opponent. “My Precious” is an attack that deals a big chunk of damage and can be repeated without having to cool down if it kills its victim. Lastly, “Coward” gives Gollum a speed boost and removes negative effects in order to make him flee to safety.
Gandalf is more hands-on, with higher health and resistance stats. His “Fireworks” attack is pretty much what the name suggests, while “Flame of Anor” gives him a protective shield that lets him soak a ton of damage. The caster can serve as a tank, in an unexpected twist of fate.
Guardians of Middle-Earth seems to work with a circular area of range for its attacks that has either a cone or area of effect to strike opponents. The game will release this fall for digital networks to support the release of the upcoming The Hobbit film.
