Indiefort

We’re afraid it’s that time again: Indie bundles. This time, the savings come in tiers, so those with little money can just sample a few games and those with more expendable cash can splurge a bit more.

Digital platform Gamersgate launched their third IndieFort, with an unprecedented 24 games to choose from. The sum of all titles is listed below, which we’ll discuss after the break:

  • Star Prospector
  • Blue Libra
  • Tiny and Big: Grandpa’s
  • Leftovers
  • Cardinal Quest
  • Devil Whiskey
  • Sentinel 3: Homeworld
  • Three Dead Zed
  • Orbitron: Revolution
  • Hacker Evolution Duality
  • Influence
  • Zombie Football Carnage
  • Girl with a Heart of
  • A Sirius Game
  • Will Fight for Food
  • Dark Scavenger
  • Telepath RPG: Servants of God
  • AirBuccaneers HD (Alpha)
  • DEMISE: Ascension
  • Survivors of Ragnarok
  • Shepherd Slaughter
  • Black Market
  • 3079
  • Project Black Sun
  • Cell Emergence

Star Prospector

As mentioned, there are 3 different tiers: bronze, silver and gold. We’ll explain accordingly, starting with bronze. At just €2.99, this is the most cautious of tiers, which allows gamers to pick 3 games. Now, even if there are plenty of games in the €20 region, they shouldn’t necessarily be the first pick. However, if it’s savings you’re after, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth in this pack with 4 titles past this mark. Here are the three titles we suggest:

  • Telepath RPG: Servants of God
  • Star Prospector
  • Tiny & Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers

Telepath RPG is both discounted severely through this promotion, as well as being a sizable strategy title. The frugal aspect is so grand, the developer Craig Stern counted that even if you don’t take any additional games, you’d receive an 84% discount. Tiny & Big is almost brand new, after seeing its release on GOG.com just a few months ago. Lastly, Star Prospector mixes real time strategy with RPG elements for that isometric feel with a twist.

Cardinal Quest

The silver bundle allows for a choice of 6 games for just €5.99. Games from this point on are built upon the previous tiers, to provide some breathing room. With that in mind, we suggest adding the following choices to your cart:

  • Cardinal Quest
  • 3079
  • Devil Whiskey

Dungeon crawlers will definitely get a kick out of Cardinal Quest and its pixel art, where players roam the random levels for loot and different skills each time. It’s highly addictive and easy to learn. Some may also remember 3079 from previous IndieFort promotions, where we hailed it for being a Minecraft/FPS hybrid, bundled into an action RPG. Being this is one of the only shooting experiences, it will definitely be a journey with some length behind it. Devil Whiskey is a throwback to the first-person corridor RPGs made popular by old Dungeons & Dragons games and the likes.

A Sirius Game

The final, golden tier gets you 9 of the possible 24 titles for €7.99. That means that to clear all games, you’ll need to buy 2 gold tiers and 1 silver tier. In any case, 9 games should be plenty. Even if it’s basically a grab-bag at this point, we advise adding the following three:

  • Demise: Ascension
  • Survivors of Ragnarök
  • A Sirius Game

We pitched a lot of RPGs in this pack, but they just happen to be the consistently most promising title. We left Demise: Ascension out of the silver tier, due to its similarities with Devil Whiskey. However, Demise is available with 4 players, totaling up to 16 companions. Another similar Minecraft title can be found in Survivors of Ragnarök, though it prefers the 2d approach known from Terraria. Lastly, A Sirius Game is the odd man out in this category, with its naval combat merged with RPG elements.
