Namco Bandai released several new videos for their upcoming fighting games at Gamescom 2012, along with some info to go along with it for Tekken.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 will revitalize its online component with the World Tekken Federation, lovingly abbreviated as “WTF.” Here, players will be able to hone their skills in the Fight Lab while waiting for ranked matches. Replays will be saved for posterity or to decipher opponent patterns. Failing that, WTF will offer elaborate player statistics, right down to the moved used and how often. It will also be possible to recruit others into a team of all-stars.
The other clip is a 2 minute cutscene with quite the production value behind it. It will feature some of the franchise’s known characters, but then suddenly snakes, demons and angels erupt onto the scene.
Naruto is returning to the fighting scene with Naruto Shippuuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 3. The game received introduction videos for a few characters. Fans can enjoy some flashy moves from Darui in the first match.
A second gameplay reel shows us Mifune and his blade skills. Both videos had the same button mashing andcutscene attacks known from past iterations.
Staying with anime games, we’re always pleased when another Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch clip appears. The magical collaboration with Studio Ghibli reveals some of the voice acting used in the game.
Another short clip for the Star Trek remake received another trailer as well. Its focus is still very much set on action and cooperation. This will have a lot more explosions than previous reveals. It ends with a surreal free-falling bit. Let’s hope fans will be pleased with this flashy take on the series.
